There literally is no excuse for this, NONE. First, the person who left the dog in the house must be charged for abandonment and animal neglect. However, he is not the only cause of this dog's suffering, Mark Wachner of Saginaw County Animal Control, you should be ashamed of yourself.
This dog was in this house for one year. Neighbors actually picketed to get attention since the animal control department refused to do it's job, offering lame ass excuses. All that needed to be done was get a warrant. It's done thousands of times a day across Michigan. Hell this was easy on probable cause since the crime was in progress. No doubt the poor dog will now be deemed unadoptable and killed, after suffering horribly for an entire year. What a crock of crud.
I try really hard to be a positive human, however, at this point with animal control agencies leaving abandoned animals to starve alone in homes, at the end of chains (Eaton County) and in a hellish farm of death (Montcalm County), it's not possible. The animal control officials of Eaton, Saginaw and Montcalm counties swore to uphold the law. How dare these people draw a paycheck while failing to do their jobs. At the barest, most minimal the job requires them to get a warrant to save dogs locked in homes and starving to death. Of course the customary investigation will take place and Wachner will be found to be a victim of failure to communicate. Maybe he'd learn to communicate if he was kept in the same conditions as Cola for a year.
